Most Reverend Joe S. Vásquez awarded diplomas to 33 deserving San Juan Diego Catholic High School seniors at the fifth annual Graduation Ceremony and Mass on Tuesday, June 1, at San José Catholic Church.
Ninety-one percent of this year's graduating class will be first generation college graduates. Collectively, they have earned more than $700,000 in scholarships!
Melissa, the Valedictorian, told the audience in her speech, "I realized that the proportions of the school were part of what make it what it is: a close knit, family-like environment that enables even the shyest and quietest freshman to give a speech and be herself." Salutatorian Juan Pablo, who is a talented mariachi musician, presented his salutation address in the form of a song.
