Visits from College Admissions Representatives at San Juan Diego
All San Juan Diego students are invited to attend presentations by college admissions representatives at SJD during the school day. Juniors and seniors are strongly encouraged to attend. In order to attend a college visit at San Juan Diego, students must obtain a permission slip from the College Counselor, Mrs. Spadaro. The permission slip must be signed by the teacher whose class will be missed before the scheduled visit.
Visits to College Campuses
Students wishing to visit college campuses are allowed three excused absences during their senior year and one excused absence during their junior year. Students must have a "College Visit Permission Slip" signed by a parent/guardian and the theachers whose classes will be missed. The completed form must be submitted to the College Counselor, Mrs. Liu, at least three days before the scheduled visit. Following the visit, the student must provide documentation from the college, verifying his/her visit to the college campus. Absences due to college visits will be unexcused if the student fails to follow the procedures outlined above. Students with excessive absences and/or on academic probation may be ineligible to participate in college visits during the school day (Student/Parent Handbook, p. 11).
