Campus Ministry

The academic and work study programs of San Juan Diego Catholic High School are designed to assist students in becoming responsible and capable young leaders for our community and our world. These programs also prepare our students well for success in their university studies and subsequent careers. As a school in the Roman Catholic tradition, however, San Juan Diego Catholic High School also emphasizes the value of creating caring young adults for our world.

All students, faculty and staff of San Juan Diego Catholic High School are challenged to follow the example of service exemplified in the life of Jesus of Nazareth. Just as students grow physically, socially and intellectually, so too their growth in faith and spirituality impels them to serve God and others.

In addition to the formation provided through their study of theology, San Juan Diego students become caring young adults through experiences of prayer and worship, retreats, and Christian service. The school's Campus Ministry Office coordinates these activities, offering students a number of opportunities to grow in their faith and spirituality.

Liturgy & Prayer

All students, faculty and staff participate in the school's liturgical life. Each day begins and concludes with prayer. Additionally, the school community gathers each week to celebrate the Eucharist. All members of the school community are encouraged to participate in the planning and execution of such liturgies and opportunities for prayer.

Retreats

All San Juan Diego students participate in grade-level retreats sponsored by the Campus Ministry Office. Any student who is unable to participate in the retreat opportunity sponsored for his/her grade level will be allowed to submit proof of attendance at an alternate retreat of equal length, or to make up the hours of the retreat in additional service hours.
